For this week's Alumni Spotlight, we would love to highlight Giulia Mallmann! Giulia is being recognized for her work as the Tournament Manager at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club👏🏼✨

"I've been in this role since 2022, and I manage more than 90 member golf tournaments a year, along with running the club's golf associations, leagues, and other special events. Last year I was selected to be a Committee Chair for the 124th U.S. Open at Pinehurst. I oversaw the golf operations for Courses Nos. 3 and 5 during the Major Championship so that it was open for member play, resort guests, and other corporate events."

Each event is a testament to my passion for storytelling through design, my commitment to seamless planning, and my ability to bring together top-tier vendors to create experiences that are not only breathtaking but also unforgettable. Guiding couples through their most meaningful moments on a global stage has been one of my greatest professional accomplishments, and I’m proud that B Astonished Events continues to set the standard for curated, world-class celebrations."

For this week's Alumni Spotlight, we would love to highlight Oliver Moe! Oliver is being recognized for celebrating 5 years with the athletics department at Division III Arcadia University 👏🏼✨

"Since my arrival on campus, I have risen from a Coordinator, to a Director, and as of April, Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Success & Leadership here. When I was elevated to Assistant AD, I was given sport oversight for our XCTF and Esports programs. I also serve as the SAAC Advisor, Athletics Diversity & Inclusion Designee, and a co-advisor for our affinity group for student-athletes of color. I'm still active at Georgetown as well, as I'm one of the Capstone Advisors for the SIM program!"

For this week's Alumni Spotlight, we would love to highlight Katina Lee! Katina is being recognized for her career change into the world of Sports Industry Management👏🏼✨

"After practicing healthcare law for 13 years, I decided make the leap into a career in the sports industry. Just before graduating from the Georgetown SIM Program, I interned with the Washington Nationals' Legal Department and was ultimately hired as the Senior Director of Operations for the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy, a nonprofit affiliate of the team. The Academy provides year-round programming for youth living in underserved DC communities using baseball and softball as vehicles to teach life lessons. After graduating from the SIM Program, I joined the SIM faculty staff and now facilitate two online courses - Social Responsibility & Globalization in Sports and Sports Leadership & Management. I love getting to know my students and keeping in touch with them."

For this week's Alumni Spotlight, we would love to highlight Nathan Degen! Nathan is being recognized for his role as the Senior Manager of Business Operations for the New Orleans Saints and Pelicans as well as his career in the Army👏🏼✨

"Since graduating from the program in 2023, I have competed in the Department of Defense Wounded Warrior Games, retired from a career in the Army as a helicopter pilot, volunteered with various sports teams, spoke at various universities about sports business, worked Superbowl LIX, worked for both NFL and NBA teams, and have recently helped launch a Veterans in Sports podcast. During the 2024 NFL season, I was also selected as the New Orleans Saints Salute to Service nominee up for the award with 31 other NFL players, coaches, and staff members."

For this week's Alumni Spotlight, we would love to highlight Zhané Ruffin! Zhané is being recognized for her work at WINNERS and within the lacrosse realm. At WINNERS, she leads program expansion, curriculum development, and community partnerships while overseeing the organization’s fundraising strategy, grant writing, SEL evaluations, donor impact reporting, and storytelling efforts. Zhané also directs key initiatives such as the STARS Program—a year-round leadership and lacrosse cohort for 4th–7th graders—and the organization’s flagship five-week summer camp, which integrates cultural field trips, social-emotional learning, and sport. In addition to her work at WINNERS, Zhané is the Head Women’s Lacrosse Coach at the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) and the founder of TrainHER Lacrosse, a private training brand dedicated to developing confidence and elite skills among girls in sport. Across all of her roles, she centers equity, representation, and access—values that have remained consistent throughout her journey 👏🏼✨
