We’re halfway through 2026, and already so much has taken shape at BAU. The year has been marked by awards, milestones, and the celebration of our students on and off campus. Every achievement reflects the dedication of our community and the momentum we continue to build together at BAU.

Spotlighting what’s next at Bay Atlantic University.

Last year, BAU took a meaningful step into the region’s tech ecosystem through our involvement in DevFest and DC Startup Week—connecting with innovators, creators, and changemakers shaping the future of technology. From engaging with the startup community to placing in a competitive hackathon, these experiences laid the foundation for our growing presence in the DMV.

Through the work of our Centers for Innovation and Global Engagement (CIGE) and Entrepreneurship and Innovation Hub (CEIH), we continue to expand opportunities that bridge academics with real-world impact.

This fall, we’re building on that momentum with an even stronger presence—focused on innovation, collaboration, and student engagement.

Faculty Highlight: Prof. Jason Ray Hutchison
U.S.–European Relations & International Crisis Diplomacy
Prof. Hutchison brings real-world diplomatic experience into the classroom, helping students understand the complexities of international relations and crisis decision-making. As a former U.S. diplomat and global strategy consultant, he equips students with the analytical tools and practical frameworks needed to navigate global challenges with clarity and confidence.
Through his courses, students go beyond theory, engaging in applied learning that reflects the realities of international negotiation, policy, and leadership in high-stakes environments.
