The celebration and excitement continue as Lower Division had their last day today and Upper Division is getting ready for Graduation tomorrow! It was a memorable day filled with buddy meet ups, class parties, laughter, and fun. ❤️

This morning, the NPS community gathered for our Farewell Assembly to honor departing faculty and staff and celebrate our Sixth Graders, who will graduate on Wednesday. Our almost-graduates delighted us with a touching song, sharing favorite memories from their time at NPS, from Pre-K 3 through Sixth Grade. In a cherished NPS tradition, they received parting gifts from their Second Grade buddies, who also sang “Remember Me.” The assembly also included the presentation of the Faculty Achievement Award to our outstanding First Grade teacher, Laura Foster.

Thank you to Mrs. Hancock, Mrs. O'Connell, and Mrs. Rusan for leading this meaningful celebration. Our graduates are ready for Wednesday! ❤️

First Graders recently completed their Tenleytown Blocktown projects as part of their Social Studies unit on neighborhoods and community. Throughout the unit, students explored what helps a neighborhood thrive, focusing on the people, places, and buildings that shape the Tenleytown community.

They had the opportunity to study Tenleytown across different time periods, learning how the neighborhood has grown and changed over the years. During their walking trips, students observed local landmarks, recorded what they saw in their workbooks, wrote reflections, and drew maps of each route. Each student then selected a building or place to research, write about, and recreate using blocks. Their written descriptions were inspired by the historic “Top of the Town” signs found throughout Tenleytown. The buildings were arranged along roads to create a model neighborhood: Blocktown!

At the Tenleytown Blocktown Family Share, families had the chance to admire and celebrate the students’ creativity and hard work, highlighting what they learned about the neighborhood, past and present. ❤🏠🏥🏫

This morning, the Cardinal community gathered for our annual All School Closing Chapel. Following the service, students from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade participated in Move Up Day, visiting their future teachers and classrooms. A special moment featured the 6th Graders singing the moving-up song "Woyaya" for the younger students. As we look forward to more traditions and celebrations in the coming days, we highlight our 6th Grade class who made this service so memorable. Our students are cherishing the remaining time with their teachers, friends, and buddies at NPS before we break for the summer! ❤

After a year of studying early American history and government, Fourth Graders concluded their Social Studies curriculum with a unit on United States geography. Each student chose a state to research, focusing on its landforms, highways, state flag, flowers, and major industries and products. Their research culminated in beautiful displays of all the information they gathered, and their posters were showcased at the annual "state museum" for their peers and parents to view. To celebrate their hard work and achievements, they enjoyed a delicious Americana picnic! ♥

Last week, Second Grade held its annual Authors’ Celebration to share and showcase their writing from throughout the school year. Students have focused on writing fundamentals such as sentence structure, paragraph development, grammar, and vocabulary. They also explored various writing styles, including nonfiction, poetry, narratives, and letters. Each student set up a table with tablecloths and props to showcase their work. This meaningful Second Grade tradition helps build students’ confidence in self-expression through writing while also fostering respect for their peers’ work and ideas. We are incredibly proud of their creativity and growth! ❤✏️
