In observance of Juneteenth, we reflect on and honor this important day in American history.
Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865, when enslaved African Americans in Galveston, Texas were informed of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. It is a time to recognize both progress and the ongoing pursuit of freedom, equity, and justice.
We reflect on the significance of this day and remain committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment rooted in history, equity, and respect.
Wishing our students, staff, and families a meaningful Juneteenth.

As we say goodbye to another wonderful school year, we wish all of our students, staff, and families a safe, happy, and relaxing summer. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back next year!
Students at Mittineague Elementary celebrated the last day by dunking Principal Mr. Pescitelli in the dunk tank after achieving 100% attendance today.
Meanwhile, at Memorial Elementary, eight fearless staff members suited up in inflatable costumes and competed in the school’s first-ever Iron Bee competition.
What a fun way to end the year!

Superintendent Raschilla had a wonderful time visiting Tatham Elementary School’s 4th Grade Living Museum and the John Ashley Kindergarten Step-Up Ceremony!
Students brought history to life as they transformed into notable immigrants and influential figures whose journeys, perseverance, and contributions helped shape our nation and communities. Through research, creativity, and engaging presentations, students shared the stories of individuals who overcame challenges and made a lasting impact on society.
The Living Museum was a powerful celebration of learning, culture, and history, highlighting the important role immigrants have played throughout our country’s past and present. We are so proud of our students for their hard work, thoughtful presentations, and enthusiasm.
Thank you to the dedicated staff and families who helped make this meaningful educational experience possible!
