Last week, OHCA members took their advocacy efforts to Washington, D.C., as part of the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living Congressional Briefing, meeting with lawmakers and congressional staff to champion policies that support both providers and the residents they serve.

Our advocacy priorities included the Medicare Advantage Improvement Act of 2026, which seeks to strengthen transparency, accountability and timely payments for skilled nursing facilities and assisted living providers. We also urged support for common-sense legislative reforms that promote workforce development, helping providers recruit, train and retain the dedicated caregivers our aging population depends on.

These conversations are critical to ensuring seniors have continued access to high-quality care and services in their communities. Thank you to all of our members who shared their expertise, personal stories and commitment to advancing long-term care.

Together, we are shaping policies that support providers, strengthen the workforce and improve care for older adults across Ohio.
