Congratulations to our amazing adult literacy learners and dedicated volunteer tutors! We were thrilled to celebrate the end of the school year and recognize our learners’ hard work, perseverance, and accomplishments at an end-of-the year celebration!. Thank you to all the students and tutors for attending and for preparing and bringing such delicious food to share. A special shout-out to Chick-fil-A for donating chicken sandwiches to help feed our over 70 attendees!
Literacy Delaware Board of Directors chair Greg O’Neill and former board member Jaki Ortiz shared some words of inspiration. Three learners were recognized for perfect class attendance.
We are incredibly proud of our learners and all they have achieved this year!

Debora’s improved skills led to a job in the cafeteria of a local school. “My tutor is very patient. She encourages and helps me in every way.” Conversation group has helped Debora understand more about her new home country.“
I like when there is a holiday in America and I learn the history about it (in conversation group). When I started in the group, I muted my microphone. Now I feel more comfortable, and I speak too.”
