💙🐾 Celebrating Service, Leadership, and Community Impact 🐾💙

Delcastle is proud to celebrate the incredible community service efforts led by Mrs. Jasmin Black, DFTA Instructor, founding Key Club advisor, and proud Delcastle alum.

Mrs. Black was recently recognized as a 2026 Governor’s Volunteer Service Award honoree, a well-deserved recognition of the heart, dedication, and countless hours she pours into serving students and the community.

This year, 137 students from grades 9–12 participated in Delcastle’s Whole School Initiative community service trip to Rehoboth Beach. Students collected four large bags of trash, helped keep the shoreline beautiful, and showed what teamwork, leadership, and service look like in action.

Delcastle students also continued the Community Service Diaper Cake Project through our partnership with Saint Francis Hospital’s Maternity Unit. Over the past 2½ years, students have handcrafted and donated more than 120 diaper cakes to support new mothers and families. This year alone, nearly 40 diaper cakes were created, each designed with care and paired with a personal letter of encouragement.

Together, students dedicated more than 2,000 volunteer hours to fundraising, organizing donations, assembling gifts, and serving others.

Thank you to Mrs. Black, our students, families, staff, DFTA team, Student Council, Teacher Academy, STEP Program, Delcastle Track & Field, community partners, and everyone who helped make these projects possible.

Delcastle Students Bring Home National Gold from SkillsUSA Championships Delcastle students made the entire First State proud this June, traveling to Atlanta to compete against the best career and technical education students in the country, and returning home as national champions.

What an incredible finish for Team Delcastle at SkillsUSA NLSC 2026! 🏆❤️💙

We are beyond proud to celebrate TWO national gold medalists:
🥇 Lucas Jarrell ’26 — Building Maintenance
🥇 Devin Jones ’27 — Screen Printing Technology

These outstanding students brought home national championships for Delcastle, and we could not be more excited for them!

We are also celebrating a record number of Team Delcastle students who earned SkillPoint Certificates, a major accomplishment that recognizes students who achieved top scores in their respective SkillsUSA championships and demonstrates true workforce-ready excellence. That is a huge honor, and we are so proud of every student whose name appears on this graphic.

From 41 competitors across 24 competitions — the largest team from Delaware — to national gold medals and record-setting student achievement, Team Delcastle made this week one to remember.

Congratulations to all of our competitors, medalists, and SkillPoint Certificate recipients. You represented with excellence, professionalism, and pride every step of the way!

This week, 41 Cougars (the largest team from Delaware) represented across 24 national competitions. From leadership and service to skilled trades, technical contests, and team events, our students showed what it means to commit to excellence on the national stage.

Tomorrow, we will find out the official results during the Closing Session. But no matter what happens, we could not be prouder of the dedication, professionalism, courage, and Cougar pride our students demonstrated all week long.

A huge thank you to our advisors and chaperones who dedicated their time, energy, and care to support our competitors and help make this experience smooth, memorable, and successful.

Many of our competitors stepped into competition today, representing Delcastle with focus, professionalism, and Cougar pride. We are especially excited to congratulate Lily Pro, Chem Lab ’26, who earned a spot in the final round of the Prepared Speech competition for the first time in Delcastle history! 🎤⭐

After a busy day of competing, Team Delcastle came together for a Chick-fil-A team meal before exploring the Georgia Aquarium and making more memories as a chapter.

We’re looking forward to our remaining competitions on Thursday and preparing to celebrate the results of our hard work at Friday’s Closing Ceremony. No matterr the outcome, our students have already made Delcastle proud on the national stage.

From competition orientations to conference experiences, our students have been representing Delcastle with professionalism, pride, and excitement every step of the way. Today was all about getting settled, preparing for the week ahead, and taking in everything the national conference has to offer.

Tonight, Team Delcastle joins thousands of SkillsUSA members from across the country for the official Opening Session, and we are ready to bring that energy to the national stage!

We are so proud of our students and cannot wait to see them compete, grow, lead, and make memories this week.

proudly celebrated the graduation of the Delcastle Technical High School Class of 2026 at the University of Delaware’s Bob Carpenter Center.

This year, 388 seniors crossed the stage, representing 23 career areas and leaving behind a legacy of leadership, service, achievement, and Cougar pride.

The Class of 2026 has so much to celebrate:
✨ Nearly 80% of eligible seniors employed
✨ 154 seniors participated in dual enrollment coursework
✨ 96% of eligible seniors completed work-based learning, college coursework, or both
✨ 40 SkillsUSA gold medals earned
✨ State and national recognition through SkillsUSA, HOSA, Educators Rising, Science Olympiad, Poetry Out Loud, athletics, Esports, and more

We also celebrated a new honor cord tradition recognizing graduates with Honors, High Honors, and Distinguished Honors, along with our student leaders, military-bound graduates, and career and technical achievers.

Special congratulations to our student speakers, Marcos Leon-Gonzalez and Annia Medina-Mejia, who represented the heart, resilience, and promise of the Class of 2026.
