SOMETIMES or SOME TIME or SOMETIME

"Thỉnh thoảng" có thể là nghĩa đầu tiên bạn nghĩ đến khi nghe cả ba từ này. Thực tế là mỗi từ lại có một ý nghĩa khác nhau đó nha 😄
🍀 SOMETIMES : thỉnh thoảng, đôi khi => trạng từ chỉ tần suất, có thể đứng ở đâu câu, giữa câu hoặc cũng có thể đứng ở cuối câu. For Example:
- Sometimes I don’t understand what he is saying (Thỉnh thoảng, tôi không hiểu anh ta đang nói cái gì)

🍀 SOME TIME: Cụm từ này được hiểu đơn giản là "một khoảng thời gian, một ít thời gian". For example:
- It takes me some time to finish the work (Tôi mất khá lâu để hoàn thành được công việc đó)

🍀 SOMETIME:
Khi là một tính từ, Sometime có nghĩa "in the past but not any longer" - trước đây nhưng bây giờ không còn nữa, đã từng. Tính từ này thường được dùng khi nói về một công việc (a job) hay một ví trí (a position). For Example:
- The sometime secretary (Người thư ký trước đây).

Khi là một phó từ, Sometime có nghĩa "at a time in the future or the past that is not known or not stated" - một khoảng thời gian không rõ ràng, có thể trong quá khứ hoặc tương lai, một lúc nào đó". For Example:
- I'll finish reading the book sometime (Tôi sẽ đọc xong cuốn sách vào một lúc nào đó).

2. Give something for free.
Kanako gave away her old furniture to her sister.
BRING UP
1. Raise a child.
Yury was born in Belarus but brought up in Russia.
2. Start a topic of conversation.
Linh brought up the subject of marriage again but Giang didn't want to talk about it.

Concentrate - it's really easy to miss the answers if you lose concentration, even for a moment.

Read ahead - it's more important to be ready for the next section than to check the questions you have already done (check them at the end when you have 10 minutes to transfer your answers).

Highlight key words - when reading ahead, it's a good idea to underline words that you think you will need to listen for.

Have the next question in mind - when you're listening for the answer to a question, be ready for the next question as well. It's easy to miss several answers if all of your focus is on one question.

Expect 'tricks' - the speaker may try to confuse you - click here for an example.

Spelling - as well as testing your understanding and vocabulary, IELTS Listening is also a spelling test. You must work on your spelling if this is a weakness.

Difficult questions - don't worry if some questions seem really difficult. The exam needs to have questions that separate band 8 from band 9. If you are worrying too much, you might miss the easier questions that could get you a band 7.
