Today, the Limpopo Department of Education, in partnership with the National Education Collaboration Trust (NECT), convened a Provincial Engagement Roadshow on Learning Gaps to strengthen collective efforts towards improving learner outcomes.

The dialogue, *hosted by MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya*, brought together education stakeholders, including officials, teacher unions, district representatives, school governing body associations, researchers, civil society organisations and teachers, to reflect on the factors contributing to learning gaps in Mathematics and English First Additional Language (FAL).

Discussions focused on insights from the NECT Rapid Appraisal Research Project, with stakeholders exploring practical, evidence-based and context-specific interventions to strengthen curriculum coverage, learner engagement and academic performance.

Through collaboration and shared learning, stakeholders continue to work towards building a stronger education system that supports improved teaching and learning outcomes.

On 11 June 2026, senior leaders and stakeholders of the Northern Cape Department of Education gathered at the Kimberley Club Guest House in Kimberley for the Education Systems for Instructional Performance (ESIP) Validation Workshop, following the completion of the ESIP diagnostic process.

The workshop provided an opportunity for participants to review and validate key findings from the diagnostic assessment, assess the feasibility of proposed recommendations, and identify priority areas for institutional strengthening. Discussions focused on six critical workstreams, including Strategy, Finance, Organisational Structure, Technology, End-to-End Processes, and People Capability and Organisational Culture.

The engagement also fostered collective ownership of the reform agenda, enabling leadership to align on high-impact interventions and implementation priorities. The outcomes of the workshop will inform the finalisation of the ESIP report and support the next phase of organisational improvement aimed at strengthening institutional performance and improving educational outcomes in the province.

The website falsely lists certain NECT Trustees and staff members, together with the President and three Ministers, as trustees of the organisation.

Please note that this organisation is non-existent, bogus and fraudulent.

Do not engage with or direct any resources to NEMT or its website: nemt.org.za.

NECT is working with government and other relevant authorities to identify the individuals involved and to have the website removed.

The National Education Collaboration Trust (NECT), in collaboration with the Department of Basic Education and key education stakeholders, participated in the two-day Mathematics, Science and Technology (MST) Conditional Grant Inter-Provincial Seminar. The seminar provided an important platform for Provincial Education Departments, MST Directors and Coordinators, and strategic partners to reflect on implementation progress, share best practices, and strengthen the delivery of MST education across all nine provinces.

Day 2 extended these engagements beyond the seminar venue and into schools, offering delegates the opportunity to observe firsthand the impact of MST interventions at school level. Through meaningful discussions and school visits, participants exchanged insights on effective resource utilisation, learner support, educator development, community involvement, and innovative approaches that contribute to improved learning outcomes.
