Day 1 of the G13 Hackathon is well underway at the ๐๐ฐ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ด๐ฐ ๐๐ฌ๐ช๐ญ๐ญ๐ด & ๐๐ค๐ฐ๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ฎ๐ช๐ค ๐๐ฆ๐ฏ๐ต๐ณ๐ฆ in Sedibeng, and the energy in the room is something special.
Teams are deep in discussion, ideas are taking shape, and the journey from challenge to solution has officially begun. One thing that stood out today was the reminder from ๐ ๐๐ ๐ ๐ฟ. ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ด๐ถ๐ป๐ธ๐ผ๐๐ถ ๐๐ต๐น๐ฎ๐บ๐ถ๐ป๐ถ, that starting in the periphery of Gauteng was intentional.
The goal is to ensure that every corner of Gauteng has an opportunity to contribute to the province's future and be part of the digital transformation journey.

When we launched the Youth Tech Expo G13 Hackathon Series 2026, we knew we were bringing together first-time builders. What we didn't realise was just how much heart and raw talent would flood that room.
From blank screens to working website templates, these young innovators pushed through the midnight slump, wrestled with coding basics, and proved that grit beats experience every single time. ๐ฅ
And now, the road to the finish line gets real. Huge congratulations to our 2 Finalist Teams who have officially booked their spots to compete in the grand finale at the end of this month!๐๐
