77.

That is the number of incredible women in our tertiary programme who are currently studying engineering. That means over 40% of our engineering cohort is powered by brilliant female minds

Today is International Women in Engineering Day, and we celebrate the incredible contributions, achievements, and impact of women in engineering around the world. This day recognises the dedication, innovation, and expertise of women who are shaping the future through engineering while inspiring the next generation of female engineers to pursue opportunities in STEM fields.

Tomorrow Trust, in partnership with Komatsu South Africa, proudly participated in the MASA Career Expo in Ga-Pila, Limpopo, inspiring and empowering young learners as they explored their future career opportunities.

The expo provided learners with valuable insights into various industries, helping them better understand career pathways aligned with their interests and aspirations. Through meaningful engagements and career guidance, we had the privilege of sharing knowledge, encouraging ambition, and contributing to the development of the next generation of leaders.

Thank you to MASA, Zandile Sizani all stakeholders for creating a platform that continues to make a meaningful impact within our communities.

This Youth Day, we handed the microphone to our students to hear what June 16 truly means to them.
Their reflections remind us that while the legacy of 1976 gave us a foundation, the work of empowering the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and changemakers continues every single day.
At Tomorrow Trust, we believe that education and holistic support are the most powerful tools to unlock the potential of South Africa’s youth.

Happy Youth Day 🇿🇦

As Youth Day approaches, Tomorrow Trust encourages everyone to reflect on the significance of this important day in South Africa's history. Youth Day commemorates the courage, resilience, and determination of the young people who stood up for their rights and helped shape our nation's future.

As Nelson Mandela once said:

"The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow."

This Youth Day, let us honour the sacrifices made by the youth of 1976 and remember the powerful message they left behind—that education, equality, and opportunity are worth striving for. May we continue to empower young people to dream boldly, pursue their goals, and become the changemakers our communities need.

At the Tomorrow Trust, people often see the tangible markers of our work, the academic support, the digital integration, and the career guidance. We are incredibly proud of those pillars.

But behind every report card, every laptop, and every milestone... there is a child.

This National Child Protection Week, we want to spotlight the heartbeat of what our social work team does every single day: psychosocial support.

True impact isn’t just about what a child learns, it’s about how a child feels. It’s about creating a safe harbour, checking in when things get heavy, and ensuring no student navigates this world alone.

Because when a child is truly cared for, they become confident. They get the room to breathe, to dream, and to grow.

Growing Together to Reach More Children

As Tomorrow Trust continues to expand our impact and reach more children across South Africa, our dedicated team recently came together to reflect, collaborate, and strengthen our organisational structure and programmes for the future.

Behind every successful initiative is a team of passionate individuals who invest their time, energy, and expertise to create opportunities for the learners we serve. Their commitment and hard work make our mission possible every day.

A huge thank you to the incredible Tomorrow Trust team for your dedication, collaboration, and unwavering commitment to empowering South Africa's future leaders. Together, we're building brighter futures and creating lasting impact.

On 16 May, our 2026 Cell C SEEYOUTH Cohort came together as part of Cell C’s SEE YOUTH initiative for a day filled with energy, connection, creativity, and teamwork.

From team tournaments to content creation sessions, every activity was designed to encourage collaboration, confidence, and meaningful engagement, and our students embraced every moment.

Beyond the fun, the day created an opportunity for students to connect, build relationships, and grow together in a positive and inspiring environment.
A huge thank you to for making this possible. Your investment in these young people goes far beyond a bursary, it creates opportunities for growth, exposure, and lasting impact.

First-Year Tips #2 🎓

We hear from Hundi, a final-year student studying BSc Construction Studies at University of the Witwatersrand, as she shares advice for students just starting out at university.

Her tip: Fail forward. Failure can feel disappointing, but it should never stop you from moving forward. Instead, view every setback as an opportunity to learn, grow, and come back stronger. Every challenge is part of the journey toward success.

Tomorrow Trust has psychologists that support all our tertiary students. This week we have intel from one of our lead psychologists, Natasha Hartley.

Student burnout can happen without students even realising it because stress, exhaustion, and lack of rest often feel normal during exam season.

But studying longer does not always mean studying better. Quality study sessions are more effective than exhausting yourself for hours. Remember to take care of your mental health, get enough sleep, and make time for small things that help you relax, whether it’s taking a walk, getting ice cream with a friend, or simply taking a short break.

A healthy mind studies better. 💙
