Her research aligns with the Chairโ€™s commitment to engaged scholarshipโ€”creating pathways between the university and communities, fostering meaningful collaboration, and contributing research that makes a positive difference in people's lives. Through this work, the Chair seeks to be a bridge for re-imagining knowledge, development, and social transformation from African-centred perspectives.

We look forward to her contributions and wish her every success in this new role.

๐ŸŒโœจ RECLAIMING AFRICAN LANGUAGES โœจ๐ŸŒ
๐Ÿ“š Identity | ๐Ÿง  Knowledge | ๐ŸŽ“ Educational Transformation

African languages are more than just a means of communication โ€” they carry our history, culture, wisdom, and identity. ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ

For too long, many indigenous languages have been sidelined in education and public life. Itโ€™s time to reclaim, preserve, and celebrate them as powerful tools for learning, innovation, and social transformation. โœŠ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ“–

When learners are taught in their mother tongue, they connect deeper, understand better, and thrive academically. ๐ŸŒŸ Education rooted in African languages strengthens cultural pride and builds inclusive, equitable societies. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿพ๐ŸŒ

Let us champion multilingual education, protect linguistic heritage, and empower future generations through the languages of Africa. ๐Ÿช˜๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ

Her research highlights the role of โ€œsocialโ€ mothers and challenges the idea that motherhood is purely biological, using autoethnography as a key approach.
