EXCITING NEW CHANGES HAPPENING ON OUR CAMPUS 🏗️✨

We are thrilled to share that construction has officially begun on our brand-new aftercare lunch area! We know how important it is for our learners to have a comfortable, safe, and engaging space to relax and refuel after a long day of classes. This new indoor dining space is being designed specifically with the kids in mind, making it the perfect spot to enjoy their meals, share stories with friends, and recharge for an afternoon of homework and studies. Stay tuned for more progress updates— we can't wait to show you the final outcome! 🥪🍎

At Hatfield Christian School, our mission of "Training Leaders to Serve Nations" is rooted in the belief that God has a unique purpose for every young person. As we celebrate Youth Day, we pray that our students will grow into men and women of faith, character, and courage who will influence their communities and nations for Christ.

As Scripture reminds us, "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers..." (1 Timothy 4:12). May this Youth Day inspire our students to lead with integrity, serve with humility, and boldly pursue God's calling on their lives.

Hatfield Christian School recently hosted Equitas co-founders Professor Alastair van Heerden and Kurt Ferreira. The morning event drew principals from neighbouring private schools alongside key educational role-players.

Prof. van Heerden, drawing from his extensive research into healthcare AI, has shifted his focus to the educational sector. His latest work explores how AI can enhance teaching, assessment, and student learning. Together with Ferreira, he developed Equitas to reduce grading workloads for teachers.

The platform aims to deliver consistent feedback and provide deep data insights into teacher and learner performance. The presentation highlighted critical challenges in current grading systems, particularly delayed assignments and feedback that lacks constructive guidance.

The co-founders demonstrated how Equitas ensures consistent marking across all students while speeding up the feedback loop. They explicitly emphasized that AI tools are designed to assist teachers, not replace them.

The insightful session left attendees motivated and excited for the future of AI-driven school education.

UPDATE: Both Dean and Nqobile finished Comrades Marathon successfully!! We are super proud of both of them!

Our very own Dean Dollenberg and Nqobile Nene are currently taking on the legendary Comrades Marathon! 🏃‍♂️💨🏃‍♀️While the rest of us are busy enjoying our Sunday roast, they are tackling 85+ kilometers from Durban to Pietermaritzburg. We’ve told them the finish line better be the only place they stop before Monday morning —but honestly, we couldn't be prouder, they are doing so well! 🎓🐾 Big news on the Hatfield Christian School campus! Our favourite girl, Simba, has officially graduated from puppy obedience school! 🎓🐾.

Over the past few weeks, she has been working hard on her manners, socialisation, and listening to her commands. We are so incredibly proud of how far she’s come. Whether she’s providing stress relief during exam time or just wandering around to say hallo, she is going to be the best campus companion ever.

Our campus is a buzz of green and gold today as we rally behind Bafana Bafana! Our learners and staff proudly wore their national colours, bringing vibrant energy, unity, and spirit to the school as the FIFA World Cup gets underway in Mexico. Our Executive Principal, Mr Pierre le Roux, set the trend and did not think twice to change his hair colour to a very bright green!

We are sure that by now everyone is wondering how our precious Simba, our campus puppy is doing… well as you can see the exams are taking its toll and she just had to take a quick nap between exam papers.

Thank you to all the wonderful parents who joined us for our morning COFFEE CHAT organised by our amazing Parents Association. We had a wonderful time at Cafe Create, with guest speakers Graeme and Debbie Holloway who had an open and honest conversation about Real Life, Real Kids and Real Grace using their own parenting journey as an example.

We truly believe that the strongest educational foundation starts with a great collaboration between home and school.
