Happy Youth Day, South Africa!

Today we remember the young people of 1976 who had the courage to question what was accepted, challenge what was unjust, and demand something better.

Their legacy is a reminder that education is not simply about learning facts. It is about learning to think. To ask difficult questions. To test ideas. To listen carefully. And to have the confidence not to settle for easy answers…

In a world filled with noise, opinions, and algorithms, these qualities matter more than ever!

Today we celebrate the curiosity, courage, and independent thinking of South Africa’s young people - and the role they continue to play in shaping what comes next.

BAFANA BAFANA THURSDAY!

A sea of green and gold made its way through Redhill today!

With Bafana Bafana taking on Mexico tonight, students proudly wore their shirts and got into the spirit of the occasion. No speeches, no fanfare - just a genuine show of support and a lot of South African pride!

Congratulations to Dhanika Dalal on her selection to the Under-15B IPT Gauteng Central Tennis Team!

This outstanding achievement is a reflection of Dhanika's dedication, perseverance and commitment to continuous improvement both on and off the court.

Representing Gauteng Central at the Inter-Provincial Tournament is a significant honour and a testament to the countless hours of training, discipline and determination that have helped her reach this milestone.

We are incredibly proud of Dhanika and wish her every success as she competes against some of the country's top young tennis players and proudly represents her province.

As we celebrate our students selected to represent South Africa at the Mongolian International Mathematics Competition 2026, we are thrilled to recognise 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐡𝐝𝐞𝐨 (𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝟔), who will also be part of the South African team.

Congratulations, Ariella, on this outstanding achievement. We wish you every success as you prepare to compete on the international stage and proudly represent both South Africa and Redhill School. Did we mention that we're so incredibly proud of you?!

We are incredibly proud of our netball players and coaches, as our 𝐔𝟏𝟑𝐀, 𝐔𝟏𝟒𝐀, 𝐔𝟏𝟕𝐀 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐉𝐎𝐌𝐎 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐟𝐟𝐬, where some of Johannesburg's strongest school netball teams compete for top honours.

Behind every fixture are countless hours of training, early mornings, determination, encouragement from teammates, and the courage to keep improving week after week.

Redhill School is incredibly proud to celebrate an outstanding achievement by a remarkable group of young mathematicians who have been selected to represent South Africa at the prestigious Mongolian International Mathematics Competition 2026.

An extraordinary 𝟏𝟓 𝐑𝐞𝐝𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 have earned places on the national team, 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐟 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

The students will travel to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from 17 to 28 July 2026, where they will compete against some of the world's most talented young mathematicians. Before departing, they will attend a national training camp in Bloemfontein during the July half-term break.

Grade 10 students 𝐉𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐥 𝐒𝐚𝐡𝐝𝐞𝐨 and 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐮 were part of the winning team at the Tour de Maths Competition held at Beaulieu College in Kyalami.

To finish first in a field of this calibre is impressive. To do so with full marks is exceptional.

This outstanding achievement reflects the critical thinking, perseverance, teamwork, and problem-solving ability that mathematics at the highest level demands.

We are incredibly proud of Jashil and Colin and the way they continue to embrace academic challenge with curiosity, commitment, and excellence.

From Redhill to Mongolia!

We are delighted to share that one of our Grade 7 students, 𝐑𝐮𝐯𝐚 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐤𝐨𝐭𝐨, has been selected to represent South Africa at the Mongolian International Mathematics Competition (MIMC) 2026 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia!

Ruva has been chosen as a member of one of South Africa's official national teams and will compete against some of the world's most talented young mathematicians later this year.

Selection for an international team of this calibre reflects exceptional mathematical ability, dedication, perseverance, and a genuine love of problem-solving.

We are incredibly proud of Ruva and look forward to following her journey as she prepares to represent both Redhill and South Africa on the international stage!
