enrich their lives in the process. I come from a family of professionally qualified music teachers: a Grandmother, Father, Mother and Aunt. At the age of four I started with piano lessons, first with my Mom as my teacher, and later with my Dad. During my school career I won many prizes at Music and Arts festivals and completed my Grade 8 UNISA (University of South Africa) piano exam at the age of fifteen. I started with flute lessons at the age of fourteen, and continued with lessons with Leonard Lemmer, flute lecturer at the University of the Free State. I went on to study music at the University of the Free State. I took piano lessons under the acclaimed pianist and lecturer Professor Japie Human, and continued flute under Leonard Lemmer. During this time I gave many solo performances, received musical scholarships and won prizes. I played in The National Youth Orchestra, The National Youth Wind Band and the Symphony Orchestra of the Performing Arts Counsel of the Orange Free State (PACOFS). Thereafter I completed the HED (Higher Education Diploma) at the University of South Africa with four distinctions. With 20 years of teaching experience, I have taught students of all ages, from beginners to advanced in different genres of music: Classical ( Exams in Trinity College London, Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music London and UNISA), light music, pop, jazz and theory of music.
