For Stellenbosch University alumna Anneline Arries, language is more than a subject, it is a way to connect, understand different cultures and help others find their voice.

After completing a BA in Language and Culture, a BA Honours in Translation and a PGCE at Stellenbosch University, Anneline is working across language and education to support young learners in the classroom. Along the way, she has worked as an interpreter, editor and translator and has had several poems published in the Afrikaans anthology Penseel.

“Know that you can make a difference, even in the smallest things you do. Be authentic, be YOU in the classroom, and remember that language is one of those wonderful tools that helps us connect.”

During his time at Stellenbosch University, Yanga embraced opportunities both inside and outside the classroom, developing skills, perspectives, and relationships that continue to guide him today.
