It's Friday and that means it's time for a new FAQ Friday!

The TVET College sector is evolving, and with exciting new Occupational Programmes being introduced at TVET Colleges, we know many students have questions about what these changes mean for them.

This week's question is one many current students are asking:
Q: Can I complete my current NATED programme, or do I have to switch to a new qualification?

A: You can complete your current NATED programme. If you are already enrolled in an N4–N6 qualification, you do not have to switch to a new programme.

Students will be given sufficient time to finish their studies during the approved phase-out period. TVET Colleges will keep students informed about important dates and deadlines to ensure that everyone has a fair opportunity to complete their qualification.

If you are currently studying towards a NATED qualification, your focus should remain on successfully completing your programme.

Got more questions about the future of TVET qualifications? Join us again next Friday as we unpack another FAQ and help you stay informed about the changes taking place in the TVET sector.

APPLICATIONS UPDATE | Semester 2 applications

Thank you to every prospective student who applied to study at Boland College.

During the application window, we have received more than 20 800 applications across our campuses and programme offerings. Our Registration teams have been working diligently to verify documentation, process applications, and prepare offers of study. We are pleased to confirm that the first round of offers started being issued to successful applicants today.

OFFERS OF STUDY: Offers will only be sent via email. If you receive an offer, you will have 72 hours (3 days) to accept it by clicking the acceptance link contained in the email. Please check your inbox regularly, including your spam or junk folder.

IMPORTANT: If you do not accept your offer within 72 hours, your offer will once more be sent to you via email (You will only have one other opportunity to accept an offer). If you do not respond to the second offer email within the next 72 hours, your application will be cancelled.

Please note that applicants may only accept ONE offer of study. Once an offer has been accepted, all other active applications submitted by the student will automatically be cancelled. Please ensure that you accept the correct offer, as there is no guarantee that you will receive an offer for any of your other applications due to the high volume of applications received and the limited number of available spaces.

OC: ECD AND OC: COOK APPLICANTS: Applicants for the Occupational Certificate: Early Childhood Development Practitioner (OC: ECD) and Occupational Certificate: Cook (OC: Cook) programmes are required to complete an assessment before offers can be issued. Student Support Officials will contact these applicants via email once campus assessments commence. Please monitor your email regularly for further information, including your assessment date and venue.

NSFAS APPLICATIONS: NSFAS applications for Semester 2 studies will be open from 1 July to 17 July 2026 via the NSFAS online portal. Students who require assistance with their NSFAS applications are encouraged to contact the Financial Aid Official at their campus.

Please be aware of scams and individuals claiming that they can submit an NSFAS application on your behalf in exchange for payment. NSFAS applications are completely free of charge. Neither Boland College nor any of its staff members will ever request payment to assist with an NSFAS application or guarantee a successful application outcome.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Registration for pre-enrolled students will commence on 8 July 2026.

Please note:
• Only students whose status reflects "Pre-Enrolled" will be allowed to register.
• Students without a "Pre-Enrolled" status will not be granted access to campus registration venues.
• No walk-in registrations will be accommodated.

We appreciate your patience as our teams continue processing applications and wish all applicants the very best as offers are released.

Fifty years ago, young people took to the streets demanding something many of us take for granted today: the right to an education that would open doors instead of closing them.

Today, the fight looks different.

For some, it is getting up before sunrise to travel to campus. For others, it is balancing studies with family responsibilities, searching for employment, or working towards a qualification that will change the future of an entire household.

At Boland College, we see these stories every day.

We see students who refuse to give up. Students who are the first in their families to study. Students who are learning a trade, building a career, starting a business, or creating opportunities not only for themselves, but for those around them.

Youth Day reminds us that education remains one of the most powerful tools for change.

To every Boland College student: your journey matters. Every assignment completed, every practical mastered, every challenge overcome is a step towards a stronger future.

Today, we honour the youth of 1976 by continuing to invest in the youth of 2026.

Happy Youth Day.

Applied to Boland College? Here's some important information about your application status!

When checking your online student profile, you may notice different application statuses. To help you understand exactly what these mean, Boland College has created an Online Application Status Glossary that explains each stage of the application process in simple, easy-to-understand terms.

Please note: Changes from one application status to another can take up to 14 working days. Our teams are processing a high volume of applications, and each application must go through several verification and assessment steps.

If you uploaded incorrect documents and were asked to submit new ones (especially proof of residence), your application will re-enter the verification process. Once that batch of newly submitted documents has been verified, your application will move forward for further assessment.

Students currently showing a "Book Assessment" status:
IF your programme requires an assessment or placement test, your campus will contact you directly once testing dates have been scheduled. There is no need to contact the College at this stage. For now, please make sure that you have completed your Go Study TVET Questionnaire. We will share the link again later today for students who still need to complete it.

Log in to your student profile regularly to monitor your application progress and make use of the Online Glossary to better understand your status and next steps.

Remember: Boland College will only communicate with applicants via SMS or email using the contact details provided during the application process. Please do not change your details unless absolutely necessary, as this may affect our ability to contact you.

Thank you for your patience as we process applications. Your future starts here!

Monday is not asking you to be perfect. It is simply inviting you to begin again.

A new week arrives quietly, carrying fresh opportunities, untold stories, and moments that have not yet been written. You do not need to have all the answers today. You do not need to know every step of the journey.

Just take the next one.

Trust the progress you cannot yet see, the growth happening beneath the surface, and the strength you have built through every challenge that brought you here.

This week, choose courage over doubt, purpose over fear, and gratitude over worry.

Your story is still unfolding, and some of the most beautiful chapters may be waiting just ahead.

Happy Monday. Make it meaningful.
