Four Days. Ten Institutions. Countless Insights.
From 26th to 29th May 2026, the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) CBU Student Chapter embarked on an Industrial Tour that brought the principles we learn in class to life.

Day One
Ecobank and RSM Chartered Accountants, where we gained valuable perspectives on internal controls, assurance, governance, and professional practice.

Day Two
Featured visits to Infratel, the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZiCA), and the Institute of Internal Auditors Zambia, highlighting the importance of risk management, professional development, ethics, and the evolving role of assurance in modern organisations.

Day Three
We visited Stanbic Bank and Professional Insurance, providing deeper insights into risk assessment, compliance, corporate governance, and the critical role these functions play in organisational success.

On Day Four,
We visited UBA, Standard Chartered Bank, and TradeKings, where discussions centred on innovation, strategic risk management, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and sustainable business growth.

Across every institution, one lesson stood out: technical knowledge is essential, but strong communication, professionalism, adaptability, and continuous learning are what distinguish exceptional professionals.

Most inspiring was interacting with industry leaders and former students who demonstrated that the careers we aspire to are achievable through dedication, integrity, and lifelong learning.
The classroom provides the foundation. Experiences like these show us the possibilities.

🎉 What a privilege it was to host the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for an incredible session on Capital Markets and Emerge Victorious in the SEC Quiz and we Scooped First Position!

As the Institute of Internal Auditors, we were honoured to welcome the SEC for an enriching lesson on Capital Markets — followed by an exciting quiz competition that brought out the best in everyone!
