Taking Holy Communion as Jesus commanded means obeying His words at the Last Supper: “Do this in remembrance of me.” We gather as believers, give thanks, and take the bread and cup. The bread represents His body broken for us, and the cup represents His blood poured out for the forgiveness of sins. In this act we proclaim the Lord’s death until He returns, examine our hearts, and celebrate our unity as one body in Christ. It is not merely ritual, but worship, remembrance, and fellowship—looking back to the cross, inward in self-examination, around at the church, and forward to His return.
