2026 Second Term Opening Mass ππ
Theme: βLord, Make Us Instruments of Peace and Love.β
The School Chaplain, Fr Kabamba, reminded the Mpelembe School community that Christ no longer calls us servants but friends, as reflected in John 15:15. He emphasized that true friendship with Christ is built on trust, openness, shared mission, peace and love.
Drawing from the Gospel message, Fr Kabamba encouraged learners, teachers, parents, governors, and support staff to build a school environment rooted in Christian friendship rather than fear or division. He highlighted that every member of the Mpelembe family has a role to play in promoting peace, unity, respect, care, and love within the school community.
The message further emphasized that the values of excellence, integrity, cooperation, responsibility, truth, justice, prayer and care for others are not burdens, but fruits of friendship with Christ. Learners were encouraged to grow not only academically, but also spiritually and morally as instruments of peace and love in society.
Inspired by the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi, the school community recommitted itself to creating a peaceful, supportive, and loving environment where everyone feels valued, respected and encouraged to thrive.
The Mass marked the beginning of the Second Academic Term of 2026, bringing together learners, teaching staff and support staff united in faith, peace and shared purpose.
